A Live Action Ninja Turtles Prequel Scheduled For 2011….Finally!!!

Ninja Turtles was an obsession of mine growing up. I loved the movies (well maybe not the third one), video games, actions figures, and even dressed as one on Halloween in Kindergarten. They have been a huge part of my life in the past, and still to this day enjoy watching the movies when it’s on TV.

And every now and then will go up to a friend after a few beers and throw out the line

“I have a message for you……..shut it” The Last Supper and proceed slapping them in the face.

In recent years they have began revitalizing with doing an updated version of the cartoon show, doing a new cartoon movie and having a video game.

I never checked out any of them, frankly because they all seemed terrible and I loved the stuff from the past.

Well now it seems to be coming back

It has been announced that the creator behind the original film will be back to make another live action Turtles film in 2011

, this one being more of a prequel to the first movie. It seems that the new movie will be more about the Turtles before they became full grown ass kicking beings who love pizza. download Cured Duck

Splinter does a great job of explaining this to the Turtles in a short segment giving viewers a sense of their history, now will come the full movie of it.

I for one was so happy when I heard the news, even heading for pizza tonight just because it feels right. I may even have to whoop out that old Halloween costume for opening night. Prequels have done well recently like with Batman and now the upcoming Wolverine looks like a hit.

I don’t think this will have the same box office success but will be a nice way to bridge fans of old and new giving them another movie to check out.

The only problem is like all remakes of corny movies we love, using more CGI technology and what not may ruin the film, because half the fun is the corniness that goes into the movies.

I will be seeing this movie and if a quality game comes out for the PS3 will get it too.
