I consider myself a reader and enjoy kicking back for a half hour just to lie down and pick up where I left off on a good book. The book I recently finished reading was Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. It’s been out for years and is the prequel to DaVinci’s Code, but I just never got around to reading it.

Finally I decided to pick it up and read it on anticipation that the movie will be coming out soon.

I am excited for this movie to come out even though I refused to see DaVinci’s Code after it got horrible reviews.

Evil Under the Sun I read and loved the book and felt I couldn’t bare see a terrible adaptation of the book that I enjoyed so much, so I never saw it, probably never will. But this movie looks better set up and there has been better buzz around the upcoming movie of Angels and Demons, maybe Ron Howard figured out how to make this work (I think changing Hank’s hair helps out as well).

Forget about this movie for a second, because Hollywood these days don’t even care about movies that are now coming about, but to what may potentially come out in the future to continue a franchise.

Rumor has it that the third movie in the series The Lost Symbol

has just been announced, even though the book written by Dan Brown won’t even be published till September 15^th 2009

. The studio is really banking on the fact that this movie does well way even before the book releases. In Old Oklahoma rip Even though I didn’t see DaVinci’s Code, I think this is a smart play by the studio.

Hollywood doesn’t like to take risks, and securing the third chapter of what seems to be a successful franchise is smart. They lock up the director and actors early having this movie get in production right away, which is better for the studio. Angels and Demons will make money regardless of the reviews as seen by DaVinci’s Code. I actually have heard more anticipation for this upcoming movie and that it is actually a better quality movie, so if it is better, that can only enhance the value of the franchise.

I love the first two books (not sure which one I liked better) and when the third book comes out, it will be a bestseller from day 1. Daleks’ Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D. trailer

To move quickly on the next movie as the book itself drops and gains worldwide allure will only help further the buzz to the third release.

This seems to be a no lose situation for the studio and almost guarantees them another $100 million dollar picture, even at this early stage.
