Early Reviews on Terminator Salvation
Posted by Matt Rosenberg on May 21, 2009 at 12:48 am
Well I know Craig is seeing Terminator Salvation tonight, despite my advice to skip the film. According to Time Magazine review
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory video
, the film is an “action film, wrapped in an action film.” Rumors say Bale plays the part of John Connor as “soulless” as you possibly can. It just doesn’t seem like a role he should have taken. I think he realized this right about the time that camera man accidentally walked into the shooting of the final scene.
Who knows, maybe he needed a pay check. The eye pleasing scenery and aw-inspiring action scenes won’t be enough to save this film. McG won’t be able to reinvent what James Cameron did in 1984 when he directed the first “Terminator.”
If you see it, let us know
Craig will give you his feedback soon.
If you get to see a film this weekend, choose Star Trek. If not, check out Angels & Demons. I think I will skip Terminator.

I must confess I had great hopes from this film but folks the truth is that it really sucks big time. Even as god damn entertainment film.
@Ricky
I will be taking my own advice and not see this movie. Craig will relay back his thoughts probably this weekend. It’s too bad this movie sucks. Bale tends to make movies better. Sadly, this one didn’t stand a chance
I have a hunch that it will be more mediocre or decent than bad a film. For some reason, I’m in the expectation that it will have some high points, even if a lot of lows one, and I’m curious about those things they may get right.
Indeed, after the pedestrian and completely dissapointing third film, I’ll take any satisfaction I can get from this.
Alex’s last blog post..TERMINATOR I/II: Bones of Violence
@alex Check out the snap review. The movie was not a bad one, much better than the third one, but does have its lows like you mention. Check it out, I’m curious to hear what you thought of it.
i might giver Terminator a pass but I am going to go see Star Trek &
Angels &
Demons
@Angela Give it a pass, especially at this point. Wait till DVD.
