Buffy the Vampire Slayer Remake Is In the Works

“I’m different than every other girl, I have a keen fashion sense” are the classic words of one Kristy Swanson playing the role of the 90’s classic Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the 1992 teen hit. This movie has been a huge favorite TV watch for me over time, at any point I see it on HBO I need to stop what I’m doing and watch it. The movie is going to have a reboot to it without original creator Josh Whedon.

The popular movie spawned the successful TV show and this is going to be completely remake Buffy the Vampire Slayer Spaceballs move

with new characters and a new mentality. Reports say they want a more event sized darker movie.

I love the original, never saw the TV show although scrunchie wearing girls everywhere loved it, but I am a vampire fan. For some reason I have an obsession with vampire movies like I have an obsession with eating pretzels. Either way I do not want this movie to be redone.

I hate how Hollywood thinks it’s acceptable to just create crap from former classics to get by with lack of ideas and budgets that are compensating for something. Create something new, don’t mess with something that worked. Of course that’s not the attitude Hollywood takes and I understand why.

To them a movie like this is already a brand, the way Nike may be a brand. Instead of trying to come out with a new product, they just re-launch a familiar name knowing they already have a certain fan base and what seems to be an easy buck. That’s what they are doing with the soon to be new Karate Kid movie.

But sometimes they need to take a risk like when Rachel left Barry at the alter in Friends because he was the “safe” bet and knew he wasn’t the one. Movies need to leave the alter last minute and find something they are passionate about and moviegoers will love them for it.
