Two Up and Coming Hollywood Stars Ready to Break Out

The nice and reliable Hollywood stars we see in the movies are great depending on what you really think of them. Who doesn’t like to see Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, and all the others we have come to enjoy and love through the years. But the times do change and names on Hollywood are up and down hot and fresh more than Heidi and Spencer’s relationship.

This year I have noticed 2 names that may be on the fringe of breaking out and slowly becoming household names for the next decade. Every now and then it seems that new actors have the opportunity to make it or break it based off of their status and movie selections, or they can go the Lindsey Lohan route and just become a tabloid extravaganza to make it on the scene.

Here are two guys I think will have a break out year and slowly become household names.

Sam Worthington

Sam Worthington

Western Union rip

Played the cross human-cyborg in the latest installment of Terminator, and although I thought the movie was bad and gave Terminator Salvation a bad review, he was the lone bright spot in the movie. That’s right, Sam, not Bale was worth watching in the movie. Bale can scream at cameramen

all he wants, but he was outshined again in his second summer blockbuster in a row. Sam Worthington has that screen presence you expect to see in start quality, almost like a Russell Crowe way.

He is set to star in the gigantic James Cameron Avatar which may either be the sci-fi Titanic, or sci-fi Waterworld. And also is set to play Perseus in the remake of the Clash of the Titans. These two movies could make Sam a big timer in leading action roles for the next decade.

Taylor Kitsch

Taylor Kitsch

Aka Tim Riggins for fans of the TV show Friday Night Lights. The Mysteries of Pittsburgh He plays the cocky, drunken star high school football player to a T and Hollywood noticed. He was the only character on the show who had any real chance at crossing over into movies and making a name for himself, and it seems like he is slowly getting there.

buy War of the Worlds 2: The Next Wave

Been on magazines already, he had a minor role playing Gambit in the terrible movie Wolverine. His scenes were cool and since I know they are looking into a spin-off with Deadpool, it wouldn’t shock me to do a spin-off with Gambit in the future. He is going to star in the Bang Bang Club and it has been recently announce that he will star in the sci-fi movie John Carter of Mars playing a war vet transported to Mars. Again he has that screen presence like a young Brad Pitt, star quality.

Hopefully he picks his roles carefully and doesn’t just settle for hick type roles similar to Friday Night Lights.

Who else do you think is on the brink of making it big?

  1. Craig, I am fairly surprised you would not include Chris Pine in this category. More than both these guys. Kid carried Star Trek. Neither of the guys you mention were asked to carry a movie. Bale, while he was not the bright spot in the movie, was the lead nonetheless and expected to carry Terminator. Hitsch, well he has not been asked to do any of that yet. Pine was Star Trek and is going to be soon to be Hollywood A Lister

  2. @Matt I agree Chris Pine did a great job in Star Trek and has the potential to be a break out star. I left him off the list for that reason that he already has a big time starring role under his belts while these two guys are still more unknowns.
