Jon Favreau to direct 2011#039;s Cowboys and Aliens

Film Insider, Ron Ashley, tells TheMovieBanter.com that there are serious rumors floating around that Jon Favreau will direct the 2011 blockbuster “Cowboys and Aliens.” The film is starring Robert Downey Jr aka Iron Man.

Cowboys and Aliens is a CGI film about Apache Indians and Western settlers, in Arizona, laying their differences aside when an alien spaceship crash lands in their city.

These 2 first joined forces to make the first Iron Man, which was one of the best movies of 2008. They reconnected for the 2010 sequel as well, which finished shooting this Summer. Joining Downey Jr for Iron Man 2 is a star studded cast including Ed Norton, Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke, Paul Bettany, Kate Mara, Samuel L Jackson, Sam Rockwell, Don Cheadle, and of course Gwnyeth Paltrow as Pepper Potts.

I think that “Cowboys and Aliens” will be the runaway hit of the summer even though it’s not a totally original (based off the comic book of the same name) a western with spaceships you have to luv that.
