The movie 2012 Quel maledetto treno blindato film Hot Fuzz movie is coming out soon and this is supposed to be the big blockbuster of the season.  There are a lot of superstitions regarding this date 2012, non scientific, all a lot of crap, but even though there have been talks about this year all throughout history.  The date is supposed to be the end of the world as we know it with cataclysmic events happening based off of amateur sayings and ancient mythology.

Of course no good myth can be complete without its typical over cheesy end of the world Hollywood movie with poor script and mediocre over acting from guys with pretty decent names who are over the hill and just want a pay check.  Does The Day After Tomorrow ring a bell Mr. Dennis Quad?  This is  cheap ploy of Hollywood to of course make money off some myth that will get a couple of dorks reaching for their inhalers after they watch one half hour show about it on the history channel.

This movie looks terrible.  This is where me and fellow Banterer Matt differ because based off the trailer he cannot wait for this movie.  I personally think this is just another example of Hollywood utilizing too much CGI and actor names to try to bring in box office cash.  It probably will do decent opening weekend but will be a bust compared to what it cost to make and advertise.  2013 anyone?  At least this movie can’t have a sequel to it although knowing Hollywood they will figure out somehow how to create an illusion of part of the myth alive to string out more cash from us in a few years.  And as terrible as it may probably be I will see it, why not.

  1. hmmm….I think the movie will do well at the best office (probably only on opening weekend only though), and will certainly attract the sci-fi junkies but it looks to me right up there with INdependence Day and War of the Worlds.

  3. @Kess,

haha…you are definitely going to see it. Why, cause it will be entertaining.

  4. @EVeryone,

Surrogates will be the worst. $260 million will be tough to fuck up. Even though it will be over done does not mean it won’t be entertaining

  5. If this is the worst movie, what about Paranormal Activity? Yes, they make a lot of money… Are you jealous? If you don´t like the movie, don´t watch it!!! And find a way to make money by yourself to make your own movie, and let us laugh watching your garbage.

  9. @Carl Ha, a little harsh but may be correct.

  10. This movie was just so totally bad in so many ways. I’d say 90% of the budget was spent on digital effects, which sometimes looked almost catoonish. The other 10% was spent on marketing and no money was spend on writing (i.e. character development). Between the totally unbelievable digital effect scenes I was yawning and trying to stay awake. Why can’t these guys take cues from other good movies like Bladerunner. If this type of movie is what we have to look forward to in the future then I predict the end of Hollywood by 2012.
