Wow this year blazed by so fast.  It’s crazy looking back at the year and to see how much you have accomplished, and well, how many new years resolutions have come and gone.  This new year brought us the Banter, and I hope everyone has enjoyed it.  Between Twitter, a new President, and of course the Tiger Woods sex scandal, there has been plenty to talk about this past year.  For movie fans, there was a large array of movies sorting through all sort of genres that had plenty of people talking at the water coolers.  The summer blockbusters, the independent movies that came out of nowhere, the sci-fi masterpieces, and some weird guy who goes around the country firing people.  In a year that had some highs and some lows, we at the Banter came together to bring to you a list of what we consider the top 10 movies of 2009.

Have a happy and healthy new year from everyone at the The Movie Banter and we look forward to plenty of banter in 2010.

  1. I saw 7 of the 10 (didn’t see 10, 6 and 2).

Decent list. Can’t think of any others I saw this year that I would swap these out for… that’s kind of a sad statement actually, movies must not have been very good this year because I don’t remember which ones I saw!

I had a lot of problems with Avatar (want to talk race, let’s start here), but when I turned off my brain and my militant leanings, I enjoyed it for being pretty and fun.

  2. @Debt Hater It wasn’t a great year of movies, seems like there were better smaller movies but not too many that hit the mainstream. I have heard that complaint about Avatar as well when looked at more and with the politics behind, honestly I don’t think that was their intentions, more just an amusing fill to be watched for entertainment purposes.
