Joseph Gordon-Levitt Officially Starring in Rian Johnson’s ‘Looper’

What more could be said? Rian Johnson, director of Brick and last year’s The Brothers Bloom, has been hinting at what will easily be his biggest project yet, Looper (not the guys who made music for Vanilla Sky) for quite some time. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, face of Brick, is officially reteaming with Johnson for a time-travel movie about a hit man hired to assassinate people sent from the future, according to Production Weekly’s Twitter account.
Not only does that plot sound fantastic, but coming off of Inception this thing has serious potential to make a whole bunch of money. (That’d be nice to see for once.) It’s also gained major headway since Bruce Willis signed on to star opposite Gordon-Levitt. If you’re at all into movies, don’t let this one slip past you. Slated for release in the latter half of 2011, my unruly fantasy after Brick: could you imagine David Lynch doing a movie specifically about time-traveling?
