Machete Marketing

Machete Marketing

The viral marketing campaign behind Machete has generated a decent buzz for the film.  As I write this post, the trailer for the film just popped up on TV ending with Jessica Alba glaring her eyes while in the shower.  Not a bad way to catch the eye.  The film has been marketed just like Robert Rodriguez;s Grindhouse films, which were beyond atrocious I might add.  Rodriguez is also behind the camera for this film as well.  Danny Trejo, the meanest looking latino in the business, finally gets a starring role in a big feature film.   The movie also stars Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal, and Michelle Rodriguez.

Nick P wrote about the Narnia marketing campaign a few weeks back.  He explained how the new Narnia website is an example of how studios are using interactive websites to help generate a buzz for their films.  Machete is also another example of this.

The MACHETE Photo Bomb feature is now live!  By going to machetephotobomb.com you can upload a photo and let Machete do what he does best. You can create your own MACHETE poster by uploading a photo and include characters from the film.  You can share your poster on the site, or post it to Facebook.

This is just another way for you to get close to the film before it comes out Friday. What do you think of this website?
