New Trailer up for Casino Jack

Now online is the trailer for Geroge Hickenlooper’s (Heart of Darkness: A Filmmakers Apocalypse, Factory Girl) new movie Casino Jack. The film stars none other than Kevin Spacey whom I personally love. Can’t wait. It also premieres at the Hamptons Film Festival, starting on October 7th.

Spacey is a great actor. With his Oscar winning roles in The Usual Suspects and American Beauty as well as key roles in L.A. Confidential and Seven, Spacey’s work lately really could use something more substantial (I know he received some recognition for the TV movie Recount, but let’s stick to the big screen, for arguments sake). Casino Jack looks like it could be the one. Here, he plays Jack Abramoff, a criminal business/con man stealing money from D.C. big shots. He gets the chance to play the bad guy with the best lines; a mastermind with that classic Spacey vibe.

The other reason that makes me extremely happy is the return of Barry Pepper. (I guess everyone’s showing up to the actor comeback party.) Pepper is wickedly underused and has a tendency to steal scenes from any movie he’s in (especially 25th Hour), so I’d expect the same to apply here.

Also starring Kelly Preston, Jon Lovitz, Rachelle Lefevre, and Maury Chaykin.
Written by Norman Snider.

Check out the trailer now. What do you think? Return to form or just another bump in a career path?

  1. Jan30Budget Baltimorean BLUE VALENTINE was a awesome waerty eyed cinema classic, really enjoyed the movie thanks guys for the free promo. This movie was so close to the truth about the misunderstanding concerning the battle of the sexes and Class-ism in America. The Charles Theater is a romance and cozy spot, this was a great FREE date night for me and my boyfriend.
