Did You Know: James Franco / Freaks and Geeks

Did you know that Oscars co-host and perennial heartthrob James Franco began his career as part of the outstanding ensemble cast of the television series FREAKS AND GEEKS?

This show, which also served as the launching pad for Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, Martin Starr and Linda Cardellini, was loosely based on producer Judd Apatow’s experiences in a suburban public high school on Long Island, where he grew up. Somehow, the series was canceled after only one season, which has been widely regarded as a huge mistake. Coincidentally, the Long Island public high school that Apatow attended was also the old stomping grounds of Natalie Portman, Adam Pascal (RENT), and Idina Menzel (RENT).
