Well Banterers, this is certainly exciting: the first clip from Marc Webb’s highly anticipated reboot of the Spider-Man franchise, The Amazing Spider-Man, has just hit the web! Even though, I’ll admit it, I wasn’t too excited after learning that a new Spider-Man was in the works, ever since watching the full trailer, I have gotten more and more excited at the possibility of a really good Spider-Man. Is this going to be the movie that lives up to the original film’s glory?! I sure hope so. Judging by the trailer, it sure has a shot at doing so. I mean, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone– What’s not to love?!

And now, just two short weeks after seeing the full trailer, excited movie-goers like myself get to wake up to the exciting clip on our (viral) doorstep! Well, I accept this gift graciously! And what’s more is that this video (and the many to follow, I’m sure) did not just get released on the general world-wide web.

What’s that I say? Well, if you haven’t heard already, the people behind The Amazing Spider-Man marketing team have begun the film’s viral marketing campaign. And this viral campaign has taken the form of Mark of the Spider-Man, a website which tracks the fictional markings of the ever-traversing Spider Man. That in itself is a pretty interesting idea, but the campaign has definitely just upped its ante by providing us with never before seen clips from the upcoming movie. What more can I say, except keep ‘em coming!

This clip shows the endearing Peter Parker encounter his one true nemesis– Gwen Stacy’s disapproving doorman. And so the excitement and anticipation builds! Here’s hoping that the closer The Amazing Spider-Man gets to its imminent release date (July 3, 2012), the more formidable clips we are offered. Until then, watch this lighthearted first clip below:
