‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Test Screening Receives Standing Ovation

With all the hype surrounding the upcoming release of ‘The Hunger Games’ and the out-of-this-world viral campaign for ‘Prometheus,’ moviegoers may have forgotten about their most anticipated blockbuster of the year! While things have been quiet on the advertising front for ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ we have our first piece of news in awhile.
It seems there was a screening held for Warner Bros. executives and it apparently ended with a standing ovation from them! Now of course I take this with a grain of salt. This wasn’t everyday moviegoers, it was the executives to the studio that is producing this film, but it still gets me a little excited. For awhile I was starting to think that this film was going to be a letdown (I mean how could you top ‘The Dark Knight’!?), and it still very well may be, but this gives me a glimmer of hope!
It was also reported that the final cut of the film that the executives saw was a staggering four hours long! I seriously doubt that, and even if it were true I’m sure that will be cut down before it reaches mainstream theaters. I think we are looking at close to a three hour picture though, which again is very exciting stuff.
I also leave you with a finalized plot synopsis for the film, it doesn’t contain spoilers or anything but for those of you that hope to go into the film completely blind I suggest you stop reading here…
When Commissioner Gordon stumbles upon a plot to destroy the city from within, Bruce Wayne gets back into action as the Batman. Waiting for him is the mysterious Selina Kyle and Bane, a lethal adversary on a crusade to tear apart Batman’s legacy piece by piece.
Expect the promotions for ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ to go into high gear shortly after the hype for ‘The Hunger Games’ and ‘Prometheus’ has passed just in time for its big release on July 20th, 2012!
Are you still looking forward to it Banters?
