Memorable Quotes: The Hangover

Todd Phillips, the producer of the latest found footage flick, ‘Project X’ has a slew of raunchy and outrageous comedies that for the last couple of years have taken cinemas by storm. So in honor of ‘Project X’ (now in theaters) and Todd Phillips, I thought it was appropriate to showcase a scene from one of his films for our next Memorable Quotes column. And what better film than ‘The Hangover,’ considered his breakout film and in my opinion, his absolute best. And how can you talk about ‘The Hangover’ without mentioning the wonderful Zach Galifianakis. His portrayal of Alan was also a breakout for the actor, and the definite standout in the film.
But what quote can you choose when there are so many amazing ones! I finally settled on his “wolfpack” speech, it was before the characters even woke up in their hungover state, but this speech definitely set the tone of the entire film. If you haven’t had a chance to see ‘The Hangover’ yet I wholeheartedly recommend it, one of the better comedies of the last decade in my opinion! Check out the “Wolfpack” scene below as well as the quote itself below that.
Alan: “Hello. How ’bout that ride in? I guess that’s why they call it Sin City. You guys might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack. But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he was one of my own. And my wolf pack… it grew by one. So there… there were two of us in the wolf pack… I was alone first in the pack, and then Doug joined in later. And six months ago, when Doug introduced me to you guys, I thought, “Wait a second, could it be?” And now I know for sure, I just added two more guys to my wolf pack. Four of us wolves, running around the desert together, in Las Vegas, looking for strippers and cocaine. So tonight, I make a toast!
