Justin Theroux Not to Make his Directing Debut with Swear to God

That’s because Justin Theroux, the actor recently seen in Wanderlust with his notable girlfriend Jennifer Aniston, has already made his directorial debut. What?! I knew, it blew my mind too. Apparently, the actor who’s been in things as disparate as Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, American Pyscho, and episodes of Sex and the City and Parks and Recreation, has managed to have a directing past not regularly referenced.
While his only feature film that he’s directed to date has been Dedication, the highly underrated and, not to mention, under-attended drama-light romance following Billy Crudup as an angsty children’s book author who is forced to work with a new illustrator (played by one of my eternal girl crushes, Mandy Moore) and subsequently falls in love with her, Theroux is on the up and coming actor-turned-director path. And I’m not even referring to Zoolander 2, which according to the rumor mill that is IMDB, Theroux will be writing and directing. I’m talking about something different entirely.
As reported by The Playlist, Theroux’s next project will be the comedy (no light here), Swear to God, about a hedge fund manager who believes that he has recently come into contact with God. And what’s more? It will star lovable funny-men Will Ferrell and Steve Carell. Theroux won’t just stop at directing the darn thing either, as he has also decided to rewrite the script originally penned by Alan’s Cohen and Freedland, the duo behind Due Date.
Theroux definitely seems to be on a can’t stop, won’t stop tip, but honestly, I’m liking it. Check back here for updates!
