Golden Globe Award Nominations!

Just a day after the SAG Award nominations were unveiled the 70th Annual Golden Globe Nominations have been announced! And while most were pretty much expected, there were a few surprises in there…most notably Salmon Fishing in Yemen picking up multiple nominations (did anyone even see that movie?) and Meryl Streep nabbing a Best Actress in a Comedy/Musical for Hope Springs (I know Meryl Streep is the best actress on the planet, but really?). And there were also a few snubs, I was sad to see Robert DeNiro not make the cut for his supporting role in Silver Linings Playbook and Tom Hooper was noticeably absent from the Best Director category for Les Miserables, despite the film ranking in a ton of other nominations. And while many people think the Golden Globe nominations aren’t important (who can forget The Tourist being up for multiple nominations a couple of years ago) the Globes are still very crucial in helping to predict who and what will walk away with a statue at the legendary Academy Awards. Take a look at the full list of nominations below and let us know what you think of them Banters!
