Mandate Pictures has acquired an original screenplay by Diablo Cody, LAMB OF GOD, which will mark her feature directorial debut. Mason Novick (500 DAYS OF SUMMER) will produce. Mandate president Nathan Kahane will executive produce alongside Diablo Cody. Mandate has the project on the fast track and will begin casting right away.

The comedy follows a young conservative religious woman who loses her faith after a plane crash, decides to go to Las Vegas to live the life of a sinner, and on her journey finds her way back to her faith.

Cody has previously worked with Mandate Pictures on ‘Juno’ so hopefully lightning can strike twice although I have to be honest, while the plot is original it doesn’t seem that enticing at all. Be that as it may, the film is going to be made so let’s all hope for the best!

Transformers: Dark of the Moon suffers from a bad case of over-action and not enough story. Michael Bay went astray with this project. A jumbled mess of chaos. Sure, the special effects are great but there are just too much of them. Anything in excess just doesn’t work.  The big question is…will there be a fourth? (umm, probably)…will Michael Bay be a part of it? (who knows)

RENT IT

Boooooooring. So what? She was the worst. She was fine to look at on screen. Great to look at even, but she can’t act to save her life. Not only that, but she felt some sort of right to be there. She DESERVED to be in Transformers so much that everyone else had to bow down and meet her every need. But everyone seemed to put up with it for two films. Stupid people.

But then, KABOOM! She made a comment about Michael Bay being Hitler. Whoa! Girl, you need to check yourself. And she said, “Oh, no I do not!” And apparently Bay said, “To hell with you. You’re fired.” And she declared publicly that she left to pursue great career choices such as Jennifer’s Body and the timeless Jonah Hex. Plus such classics as…um…anyone?

That was my little rant about Megan Fox, but today, you get two for the price of one. What bothers me the most about Bay bringing up the Steven Spielberg firing is the publicity. Who cares? No one, unless you have a movie coming out. Then you better make everyone care.

“Oh, Spielberg fired her? I better go see Dark of the Moon then.” –Everyone, apparently

But everyone’s going to see this movie anyway, which makes this feel cheaper than usual press scandals. “Usual.” Sad times.

This isn’t affecting anyone but Fox really. I’m sure Shia LaBeouf isn’t thinking, “Damn I have to stare at Rosie Huntington-Whiteley all day. This sucks!” I know most guys who go to see Dark of the Moon won’t be thinking that either. They’ll be looking at the robots. (Right…) So let it go. You can’t compare your boss to Hitler and expect him to welcome you back with open arms, especially when there are six million other girls in Hollywood dying for the opportunity. That’s a bad career choice, if you ask me.

Everyone’s not so favorite award show released their nominations for the worst of the year, and with no surprise appearance from any Oscar contenders this year, it’s pretty much just crap. So, let’s take a look at the nominees.

Well played, Razzies. You got a good list here. The Bounty Hunter was just fluff; I’d watch it on an airplane. I HATED The Last Airbender with a fiery passion which was the general consensus here at the Movie Banter. So that’s where my vote goes. (See what I did there; I pretended they were going to take my vote.) And the reality is the others are just bad genre pics. If anyone thought they were going to get classic performances out of the paycheck seeking Sex and the City girls, that’s your own fault. Eclipse is pretty much the same thing for preteens. But who cares it made $75 billion dollars, right? Vampires Suck for me is just a poorly executed Twilight parody. Is there really anything to say about that? Making fun of popular movies stopped being funny when the Wayans brothers stopped making them. I nominate the two guys who keep these going as the Worst Ever.

The first three are just big name actors with bad career decisions. (Plenty would argue that I’m completly wrong with Kutcher, but, for some reason, I like the guy. So sue me.) The other two are Twilight stars. I vote them both off the island.

Great choices here. I’m going to go ahead and give Stewart a pass here because she’s perfectly cast as a spiritless, one-dimensional, boring, unlikable teenager with tons and tons of angst; she nailed it! Aniston falls in with her The Bounty Hunter co-star, constantly picking bad romantic films. Also, whoever thought The Switch was a great idea was incredibly delusional…I think the battle comes down to Cyrus and Fox because, once again, the Sex and the City girls desperately needed a vacation from their lofty Manhattan mansions, so they get a pass. I’d say Fox should get it because she was dumb enough to leave Transformers because she’s an “actress” or whatever. Haha. Actress! Okay….

• The writers of Little Fockers for Worst Screenplay. It should win based on the fact that most people were going to see it or saw it anyway, and, out of sheer laziness, it wasn’t funny.
• Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer for Worst Screenplay and Worst Direction. These guys are pretty much guaranteed Razzie lifers with such duds as Disaster Movie, Meet the Spartans, and this year’s Vampires Suck and such hits as the year 2009 where they didn’t release anything.

Megatron was not the reason for the demise of Megan Fox’s character from Transformers. Instead, it is Megan Fox herself to be blamed.

Months ago, we reported that Fox and Michael Bay, the director of the Transformers movies, were feuding.  To sum it up quickly, Fox made public statements that to be in a Michael Bay one did not need to act, and made further statements saying that working for Bay wasn’t the most enjoyable experience. Bay fired back quickly saying she was a young actress who didn’t know what she was saying. This feud started the rumor mill to whether Fox would be back for the third installment of the franchise.  Before any really serious rumors circulated, Fox confirmed to us directly, via Twitter, that she would in fact be back.

However, this can all be put to rest. Michael Bay has fired Megan Fox from Transformers 3. Paramount did not pick up her option and apparently it was all due to to Bay. So yep, she will not be back. Did she deserve to be fired…well, probably. She is a small time actress compared to Bay as a director and she owes him some respect for him basically discovering her.  Publicly lashing out against Bay is not the way to get a point across that working for him sucks.

To be honest though, I am pretty surprised. I would think that the two would put aside their differences to make the movie as profitable as it can be.  I know robots and explosions primarily sell this movie, but both Fox and Shia LaBeouf, also play roles that generate box office numbers. LaBeouf is really the only nonexpendable character from the series, but there are plenty of guys that show up just to watch Fox.

Bay will have to hit the drawing board to replace the sex appeal that Fox’s character brought to the films.  I thought he did a decent casting job in the second film bringing in the beautiful Isabel Lucas to have a minor role.  I’m sure he will go with an unknown to replace Fox, but it will be interesting to see what he chooses. Maybe he will even turn her into a fembot and kill her in the first scene.

Nick recently posted that Michael Bay was trying to write Megan Fox out of the new Transformers movie, which is slated for 2011.  The 2 have some serious beef apparently.

Today, I tweeted asking people to share their thoughts on if Bay does write Fox out of the script.  Well, guess who responded. Yep, Megan Fox herself.

Fox tweeted back that “that won’t happen.” She also followed up with commenting that she is ” still employed…and will be in Transformers 3.”

this past summer, where she said that Transformers “(opened) doors” for her, but that audience are “well aware that this is not a movie about acting.”

You can get mad at her, and I can understand how you could, but she’s got a point. Transformers’ purpose for being made was not for terrific acting; it was for explosive robots and for Fox to lean against a car in a belly-shirt while 13-year-old boys in the audience drooled on their popcorn. Bay was pissed at this comment. He fought back in the Wall Street Journal, saying that Fox “(said) some very ridiculous things…She’s 23-years-old, and she still has a lot of growing up to do.” She replied by saying that working with Bay is worse than dealing with “Hitler.” Then letters from the movie’s staff were written to Fox calling her an ungrateful brat.

, movie insiders who are being left unnamed claim that Michael Bay and his troupe are sick of Megan Fox’s attitude and are looking for a way to kill her character off. They went on to say that Bay is “considering writing Megan out of the series in a gory death scene in the first few frames of Transformers 3 and replacing with another gorgeous young actress.” Here’s the entire statement via

“Michael’s pretty much discovered Megan and now he’s very quietly looking for her replacement. He hasn’t decided if he’s going to kill her off in the next movie, but he just wants to be prepared.”

Could another Megan Fox be in the making? Well, maybe not. Fox’s bevy isn’t taking this lying down, saying that this story is simply “not true.” The gossip site also attack the last line of Hilton’s post about Fox having “dug (her) own grave”, saying that “if there’s one thing Perez doesn’t know, it’s how to dig.”

So could Megan Fox really not be returning for Transformers 3, which is already slated for a July 11^th, 2011 release? Probably not. It’s Perez Hilton, and I don’t count on him for movie news. Megan Fox is Megan Fox, and no one is better at looking good in a robot movie than her. Hey, she sells tickets as long as she’s tan, dirty, and showing some sort of skin.

Come on, Michael Bay. You know the series would be missing something without her.
