I’m outraged! Incensed! Appalled! I feel shock, and betrayal, and dread.

Emile Ardolino’s 1987 low-budget, huge-pay-day classic Dirty Dancing is being remade. Yes, remade. The movie that put both Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze on the map (although Grey promptly lost her spot on the map after her ill-fated decision to undergo a nose job to change the only prominent and identifying feature on her face) and maintained Jerry Orbach’s spot as the father everyone wants to have, has just been approved for no, not a sequel , but a complete makeover. And yes, I realize there was a semi-remake in 2004 taking the boredom-inducing form of Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, but it was less of a remake and more of a poorly-made movie set during the Cuban Revolution. Instead, this newly-announced remake promises to be somewhat of an homage (oh, God) to the original, even using a lot of the same music.

I mean, I knew this day would come. I really did. After the Footloose remake trailer hit the web, it was only a matter of time before someone tackled one of the most beloved 80′s films in the world. I tried to deny it, and hoped and prayed. But if those tactics didn’t work for our economy, it sure as hell wasn’t going to work for the movie that made Patrick Swayze a romantic icon.

But what’s worse? The new movie is being directed by Kenny Ortega (This Is It, High School Musical). Who’s Kenny Ortega and why does this news make the whole remake burn a little more? Oh, well, because Kenny Ortega was the choreographer on the original movie. Yes, the call is coming from inside the house! Apparently, he is very excited and even compares this new venture to “returning home.” Well, biting the hands that at one point fed you (a lot), I see.

The thing is, this movie will never top the original. It doesn’t even matter how good it is, especially because the people who grew up watching it (ahem, me) are still part of the avid movie-going population. Stop remaking 80′s movies, please! But if you’re really that strapped for ideas, Hollywood, then please just stop remaking movies that play on TBS, Oxygen, TNT and USA every weekend. This is not some sort of obscure movie that you are bringing back out of the dungeons of movies that fell by the wayside. This is a cinematic classic that helped define a generation. So do all of us a favor, Hollywood, and get some new ideas! Until then, please leave Dirty Dancing, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink alone.

Oh, and don’t even think about Weekend at Bernie’s!

Remember when Michael Jackson died in June? Scratch that; the real question should be how you couldn’t remember the death of the mega pop star. Jacko dying was the biggest thing since Obama was elected. In fact, Farrah Fawcett died that same day, but did we did anyone really seem to care or pay attention? Well, no. Not when Mr. Smooth Criminal takes the spotlight.

TV airwaves halted all programming to play his classic music videos, held interviews with random celebrities to talk about how much of an “inspiration” he was, and covered all there was about his life and legacy.

download Simply Irresistible dvd

As you probably already know, Michael Jackson was prepping for his massive “This Is It” comeback tour before he died. This was supposed to pay off his court debts and help him from losing the Neverland Ranch. Could this have launched him back to pop stardom? Well, that is subjective to discussion.

Doctors blamed his constant practicing for the upcoming tour as one of the reasons he was so weak, and eventually died. Throughout the routines, it was announced that they had filmed 120 hours of rehearsal footage for a documentary or for just pre-concert footage. The big question for M.J’s crew was: what do we do with this? An HBO special, a DVD release? But Kenny Ortega, the choreographer for Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” tour and director of all three High School Musical movies, stepped in and said that he wanted the footage to be properly taken care of. Thus, Michael Jackson’s This Is It Chromophobia movie was born.

Michael Jackson’s This Is It Not Easily Broken dvdrip Dead Poets Society video is a “compilation of interviews, rehearsals and backstage footage of Michael Jackson as he prepared for his series of sold-out shows in London.” (via IMDb The Borrowers film ) A lot of fans are wondering: what the hell is This Is It? A concert movie, a documentary, or something we’ve never even seen before? To be honest, I, too, have absolutely no idea what to expect. Yet everyone purchased tickets online or at their local movie theater in advance, outselling tickets for New Moon and Avatar. Keep in mind, this movie wasn’t even happening until a few months ago, compared to Avatar, which was ten years Scooby-Doo! And the Legend of the Vampire movie download

download The River Wild movie

K-9: P.I. film in the making!

A lot of fans have been boycotting this movie, but at the same time a lot of people are probably standing in line right now. Whether you’re a Michael Jackson fan or not, you’ll probably be seeing this movie since it’s expected to be huge. I wouldn’t call myself a Jacko fan, but that doesn’t mean I’m not completely psyched for this movie. Come midnight tonight, this is the last time you’re going to see The King Of Pop doing the one thing that he loved to do most. “This Is It,” people.

Keep Bantering
